An outdoor wedding in West Sussex - Hyde Estate, Handcross

After all the years of working at so many different venues across Sussex, Surrey and beyond, I have to say that this spot has to be one of my favourite and so local to me also. The Hyde Estate is an enchanting wild garden and a private venue deep in the middle of 850 acres of tranquil woods and countryside in West Sussex.

I had the pleasure of working Charlie and Patrick with my full wedding planning services to create a perfect day for them. If Charlie had her way, there would not have been a marquee - she wanted no structure at all as she loved the setting so much. However, practicalities kicked in and of course, a covering of some sort was required for their 100 guests!

It was so important to Charlie and Patrick that they had a personal ceremony, something that involved their two young children and had real meaning to them both so decided on having a blessing under the oak tree overlooking the amazing views of the lakes. They wrote their own vows and had a very good friend conduct the ceremony for them.

As you can imagine, with an outdoor wedding at a venue location like this it was vital every aspect was well thought out and planned and the logistics had been taken care of. Having a wedding planner was a great investment for Charlie and Patrick as they could fully enjoy their day knowing every aspect of the day had been managed by myself.

My role as wedding and events planner is very much to put into play the wishes and vision of my clients. I invest a lot of time building a rapport with my clients, taking on their ideas and allowing you to trust me so that when the big day arrives whether it be your wedding, a big birthday celebration or a summer party in your garden.

The best bit of the day was the fabulous food supplied by The Tinderbox  - such a great concept of a wood fired oven in a teardrop trailer. Not only did it look great parked up, the steak sandwiches were to die for and such huge portions!

Later in the evening a cheese cake made of many local cheeses was laid on for all the guests with a bar being ran all day by Blue Frog Bars. Such a wide selection of drinks and the guests thoroughly enjoyed the evening with some good friends playing in a band to get those dancing feet on!

Charlie and Patrick created little snugs outside with hay bales and blankets, some seating around the beautiful large oak trees and with the warm summers evening, guests were able to fully appreciate the stunning surroundings of Hyde Estate until late in to the night.

A big thank you to Jacob Malinski for allowing me to share this small selection of gorgeous images from the beautiful wedding day at The Hyde Estate, West Sussex for Charlie and Patrick.

There are so many different options at this venue from traditional pole tent marquees to a fabulous large tipi or why not have a clear marquee so you can fully appreciate the beautiful surroundings at The Hyde Estate?

Further information can be found on my Venues page as this really is a hidden gem. Please do get in contact if you'd like to discuss your ideas and how I can help you both on your special day.
