Cissbury - Hidden in the heart of the South Downs
Cissbury is a beautiful family home only recently made available for weddings and events, Cissbury retains a very special atmosphere that is rarely found in venues. It has an imposing interior, but with a warm, friendly and welcoming character.We were so lucky to stumble across this picturesque venue. The main reception rooms all provide stunning views towards Cissbury Ring. The sweep of the South Downs beyond provides the perfect backdrop and also a photographers dream!In front of the house are three level lawns which are ideal for marquees. The house and grounds have many different aspects and unique features that can provide a wonderful location for memorable photos of your ceremony and celebration.
Cissbury is licenced for civil ceremonies with a choice of rooms in the house or the barns and whatever you choose, the venue will be exclusively yours for the day.
Further up the lane from the main house set high on the Downs and completely shielded by woodland, are their stunning suite of barns. There are two large barns, both fronted by lawned yards that are surrounded by high flint walls. The adjacent lambing pens are an open fronted building that is now converted to become an informal bar and lounge area. There is even a Petanque court for boules. Large doorways connect all the spaces and make for really adaptable entertainment spaces.When we visited the venue, it is safe to say the weather was not the best being the early part of this year but this did not detract from the beauty of the barns and the amount of space that was available for you and your guests.If you are looking for a venue, then be sure to add this to your short list of places to visit. The next Wedding Fair at Cissbury is on Sunday 2 April 2017 at the House and the Barns. It will be an ideal opportunity to come along and see everything Cissbury has to offer for your very special day and to meet some fantastic suppliers.
